Adele

AdeleAdele Mara (April 28, 1923 until May 7 in 2010), was an American actress in the fields of dance, singing and dancing who made appearances in films throughout the 1940s and 1950s, and television in the 1950s, 1960s and then later. Adele St. Mara was her official name. She was offered an agreement with Columbia Pictures [citation needed]. She gained experience in comedy shorts as well as "B" feature films in the studio. Then, she was changed to Adele Mara. Mara was an assistant receptionist in Three Stooges' film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks and Leslie Brooks were the sisters of Rita Hayworth in the Fred Astaire film You Were Never Lovelier. She plays the lead female role in Alias Boston Blackie (1942) and plays the sister of an wrongly charged and escaped convict. After her Columbia contract ran out the studio moved her to Republic Pictures, where she was a regular in the studio's westerns as well as outdoor adventures. [citation needed] She starred in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch featuring John Wayne, Angel in Exile (leading lady), Sands of Iwo Jima with John Wayne in which she was John Agar's love interest, California Passage (leading lady) and Don Siegel's Count the Hours (supporting role).
