Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is an American and Canadian artist and singer. She has released over 20 albums of studio work. DiFranco's music is classified as folk, alternative and rock but also has influences from jazz and hip-hop. Ani Difranco is recognized as an icon for feminist music. In 1990, she was among the first to establish her own record label. DiFranco was born on the 23rd of September 1970 in Buffalo, New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who came across Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother is from Montreal and her father is of Italian heritage. 32 Flavors was a track that was written by as well as performed by Ani DiFranco. The track was first released on DiFranco's 1995 sixth album Not a Pretty Girl. One version of this song is featured on the film Canadian romantic movie Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologized for hosting a workshop in Louisiana on an old plantation for slaves. It was cancelled however many (including this paper) were not able to sense any regret. DiFranco offered a second apology several days after. Although she is best known as Little Folksinger, her music encompasses many different genres.
